Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a pump to be confirmed of its operating condition without receiving an influence by transfer fed fluid or the like, by detecting a reciprocating speed, deciding the pump to be abnormal, when this detected speed is out of the predetermined range of preset value, and generating an alarm. CONSTITUTION:When the invention is applied to a diaphragm pump which connects a pair of diaphragms, driven by a solenoid valve 6, by a rod displaying the pumping action alternately in pump chambers partitioned by each diaphragm, a proximity sensor 16 is provided in the rod, outputting a position signal of its reciprocating movement. Inputting this position signal to a central control unit 15 to be converted into a speed signal, from this speed signal, a standard stroke with the diaphragm pump in a normal operating condition is counted, further the standard time per one stroke is set. When the present time per one stroke is in a predetermined proportion (for instance, 50%) or more to the standard time per one stroke, abnormality of operation is warned by an operation abnormality alarm unit 21.
