Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain recorded images having gloss on both the face and back sides and having excellent preservability and durability, by recording on a recording material comprising at least a porous and liquid- permeable surface layer and a transparent ink-supporting layer, from the face side of the material. CONSTITUTION:A recording material comprises a base as a support, a transparent ink-supporting layer provided on the base and capable of substantially absorbing and capturing an ink or a recording agent, and a surface layer provided on the ink-supporting layer for directly receiving the ink, being permeable to liquids, substantially incapable of being dyed with the recording agent and being light-diffusive. The base may be formed of any of conventionally known polyester resins or the like. The base to be used may be subjected to any treatment, and when a material resistant to water, rubbing, blocking or the like is selected as the base, an image observation surface of the recording material can be provided with water resistance, rubbing resistance, blocking resistance or the like.
