CONSTITUTION:The targeted sodium carbonate heptahydrate is obtd. by dehydrating and concentrating the satd. soln. of sodium carbonate in the temp. range of 32.0-35.4 deg.C under reduced pressure to deposit crystals. The targeted sodium carbonate heptahydrate also can be obtd. by drying crystal of sodium carbonate plus its hydrate at <=30 deg.C to the content of water of crystallization equiv. to sodium carbonate heptahydrate. Further, the targeted sodium carbonate heptahydrate also can be obtd. by uniformly mixing anhydrous sodium carbonate with water in the equiv. amt. of seven times mol. and by stirring until crystallization proceeds to solidify. The sodium carbonate raw material used is usually placed on the market as anhydrous sodium carbonate (soda ash), but monohydrate sodium carbonate and sodium carbonate plus its hydrate also can be used as raw material.
