Abstract
PURPOSE:To sharply improve oxidation resistance by using Ni, specific alloy, etc., as a main material and using specific crystal structure and specifying Sf value of the alloy and further providing numberless concaves and convexes on the particle surfaces. CONSTITUTION:An electrode uses hydrogen occlusion alloy powder of 10mum or less in average particle diameter and its supporting body for 10-40wt.% of it as a main constituent material. The hydrogen occlusion alloy is an alloy shown by Mm1-xM1x Niy M2z in crystal structure of CaCu5 type, and its Sf value is less than 2.5 and numberless concaves and convexes are formed near its particle surface layer. Among the above formula, Mm: mesh metal, M1: individual or combination of Ca, Ti, Zr to be replaced with a part of Mm, M2: individual or combination of Co, Al, Mn, Cu, Cr, Fe to be replaced with a part of Ni, and the relation of x, y, z and the definition of Sf value which shows the plateau property of hydrogen discharge balance pressure are as follows: 1>x>=0, y>3.0, z>0, 4.7<=y+z<=5.3, Sf=ln(PH/M0.75/PH/M0.25)o.
