Abstract

PURPOSE:To enlarge an allowed angle and to improve an information recording density by discriminating the outermost annular ring of a concentric cord from a background and deciding a scanning linen in which the interval of the annular ring is maximum to be the scanning line on a central axis. CONSTITUTION:The concentric cords respectively constitute the one unit of information to be transferred. The outermost part of the concentric cord is enclosed by a basic contour 21 so as to discriminate from are cording medium 1, namely a background image. An area inside thereof is divided by four concentric annular rings to represent the two four bit information of a left cord 23 and a right cord 24 point symmetrical on the center of the arbitrary central axis 22. The information to be transferred is recorded in the regular arrangement of the complete interval of a data character 36 in an area 35 enclosed by a positioning character. The data character 36 and the positioning characters 33, 34 are discriminated by representing information represented by the four bits. Whether the scanning of the character starting the scanning passes on the central axis or not is decided in a central axis decision circuit 4. An algorithm for deciding the central axis is simply executed.
