Abstract

PURPOSE:To recover high purity Ga, As and P from a Ga-contg. substance contg. Ga arsenide and/or Ga phosphide by thermally decomposing the Ga-contg. substance at a high temp. in vacuum to fractionally produce gaseous As and/or P and liq. Ga and by taking the products out of the vacuum system. CONSTITUTION:Raw material contg. Ga arsenide and/or Ga phosphide is charged into a vacuum decomposing vessel (a) from the inlet 1 and gaseous As and/or P and liq. Ga 9 are produced. The Ga 9 is drawn out of the vessel (a) through a pipe 10. The gaseous As and/or P is introduced into a vacuum As and/or P recovering vessel (b) through a transporting pipe (c). In the vessel (b), the gaseous As and/or P is solidified by cooling and the resulting solid is scraped off with a scraper 18 and taken out of the vessel (b) through a pipe 28.
