EXAMPLE:Optically active n-octyloxybenzoic acid 4-{4-[1-(n-hexyloxycarbonyl) ethyloxy]phenoxycarbonyl}phenyl ester. USE:A component for liquid crystal composition, colorless or light yellow in pure state, chemically stable, has a wide temperature range of liquid crystal, excellent compatibility with other liquid crystal substances, being blended to provide a liquid crystal composition having a wide liquid crystal temperature range and excellent response characteristics.
