Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce nitrogen oxides by adding an aq. soln. of ammonium carbonate to the area having a specified temp. in an exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:An industrial water line 4, line for adding solid ammonium carbonate 5 and mixing tank 6 are equipped and the lines 4 and 5 are connected to the mixing tank 6. The aq. soln. of ammonium carbonate is injected through an injection nozzle 3 to the area having >=250 deg.C the temp. of the exhaust gas in a gas duct 8 and is finally decomposed into NH3 and CO2 to easily become harmless thereby.
