Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize the carry-out of an article by using article bottom folding plates which move toward the carry-out side after packing, of all folding plates, in order to serve two purposes of both article folding and placement. CONSTITUTION:An article 500 packed with packing paper 400 is placed on both first front and rear bottom folding plates 165 and 166 in a close relationship. In this condition, upon the encircling movement of a chain 286 by operating a motor in an article push mechanism 278, a push member 291 moves toward the packed article 500 after detection by a sensor 302. In a packing portion 37, an article placement portion 293a on the push member 291 is forced between the packed article 500 and the folding plates and, in this as-placed condition, the packed article 500 is pushed rearward by a push arm 292 on the push member 291. As this push member 291 moves, said front and rear folding plates 165 and 166 are separated and the packed article 500 is placed on the latter by both sides of the push member 291.
