Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of red water caused by the deterioration of a water feed pipe, by sucking air containing partially ozonized oxygen in a part of water to be treated containing dissolved chlorine to form a boiling layer and irradiating said boiling layer with ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:Water to be treated is supplied from a water inlet 5 and mixed with air containing a small amount of ozone by an air ejector 6 through a pipe 5a and further passes through an annular cylindrical part 3 to be sterilized by the irradiation with ultraviolet rays. The water to be treated is sterilized in the annular cylindrical part 3 by the sterilizing power of ultraviolet rays emitted from a mercury lamp 4 and the action of ozone. The treated water floods from a water outlet 10 to enter an activated carbon treatment apparatus 11 and is filtered by an activated carbon filter bed 11a to remove killed bacteria. At this time, chlorine dissolved in water is adsorbed and removed.
