Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a toner having excellent flowability by charging raw materials for the toner into a container under high-speed rotation, imparting compression, friction, agitation, and mixing to the materials to soften and melt resin powder and to embed fine particles of carbon, charge control agent, etc., into the particle surfaces, thereby surely holding the fine particles of carbon, etc., without dislodging the same. CONSTITUTION:A casing 4 which forms a cylindrical treatment chamber 5 is concentrically mounted onto the top end of a vertically positioned revolving shaft 3 connected to a driving device 2 and is rotated at a high speed so that the raw materials to be treated in the casing 4 are pressed by centrifugal force to the inside peripheral face 4a. The raw materials to be treated receive the addition of various liquid materials and the supply of air and inert gas such as nitrogen at need in the chamber 5. The effect of compressive friction and agitation mixing is imparted to the raw materials by a stator 6 and scrapers 7 and further, a heating means is applied thereto. The toner particles embedded and coated with the fine particles of carbon, etc., in and on the resin powder are, therefore, obtd. The excellent toner for electrophotographic copying machines which is satisfactorily provided with the element as the toner and obviates the dislodgment of the particles of the carbon, etc., is thereby efficiently produced.
