Abstract

PURPOSE:To discriminate the patterns produced on a projection screen and to realize the on-line input of the control commands and coordinates, by detecting the difference between the picture information to be projected and that actually shown on the picture protection screen. CONSTITUTION:A pointed part detecting circuit 11 detects the presence of a coordinate position 3 pointed by a coordinate indicator 2 using the light beams based on the difference between the picture signal inputted from a driving circuit 9 and the output signal of a reading circuit 10. A coordinate calculating circuit 12 calculates the relative position of the position 3 within a picture displayed on a screen 1 based on both outputs of the circuit 11 and the circuit 10. A command discriminating circuit 13 detects a time changing pattern of the optical characteristics of the position 3 out of the output of the circuit 11 and discriminates the types of commands. Thus it is possible to realize the on-line input of control commands and coordinates in a state where the information are displayed to many persons just by pointing directly the projected pictures by means of a visible means such as an indicator using light beams, an indication rod, etc.
