Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive coolant handy to carry, exhibiting cooling effect simply by adding water thereto and utilizable for leisure, first aid, cold compress, food preservation, etc., by using inorganic salts having a specific physical properties in combination with an organic compound and a hydrophilic material. CONSTITUTION:The objective coolant can be produced by using (A) a component exhibiting endothermic standard dissolution enthalpy in the dissolution in water, having a solubility of >=10g in 100g of water at 20 deg.C and consisting of (i) inorganic salts (e.g. ammonium chloride, potassium nitrate, sodium nitrate or ammonium nitrate) and (ii) an organic compound [e.g. urea (derivative)] in combination with (B) a hydrophilic material to control the contact of the component A with water, e.g. polyethylene oxide compound (derivative), polyacrylic acid salt compound (derivative), a cellulose compound (derivative) or a PVA compound (derivative), preferably by including the component A in the component B.
