Abstract
PURPOSE:To exactly measure the actual holding force of a chuck in rotation by providing a center supporting shaft in the side of one end of a detecting section or rotary relay section and supporting a holding force measuring instrument at two points on a machine tool. CONSTITUTION:In order to secure a holding force measuring instrument to a lathe, a chuck B is actuated after the center hole 29 of the measuring instrument is brought into contact with the center of the tail stock of the lathe which is a supporting section to hold a detecting section C having a strain shaft 2 and strain gauge 4. Receiving equal force from a plurality of directions, then, this detecting section C is fixed on the rotary axis of the machine tool. And having been connected to the machine tool component exactly mounted on the machine tool being at right angles to the rotary axis of the machine tool, the center supporting shaft 24 projected from a rotary relay section A receives equal force from the whole outer circumferential surface for being fixed on the rotary axis of the machine tool. That is, the measuring instrument becomes a center beam-like state and is supported at two (2) points on the rotary axis. For this reason the instrument will not become eccentric and rotate integrally with the machine tool.
