Abstract
PURPOSE:To make direct arrangement of dentures chiefly in a patient's mouth by forming an alveolar bone and gum of particular materials and covering the bone with a light-shielding coating so as to avoid time-consuming processes. CONSTITUTION:An alveolar bone 1 is formed of a relatively thick and viscous, photopolymerizable resin paste as its base material. Gum 2 is formed of a relatively soft and thin, slow-curing photopolymerizable resin paste as its base material. The alveolar bone 1 and the gum form an artificial alveolalus 3, on the crest of which artificial teeth 9-22 or 23-36 are arranged. The sum 2 is covered with a light-shielding coating 5 which serves to secure the artificial teeth to a foundation and shield the resin paste from light until a tryout is completed. After the coating 5 is removed, the half-finished dentures are placed in a patient's mouth to shape the gum 2 by muscle trimming. The dentures are then taken out of the mouth and irradiated with light for the final treatment. After the removal of the coating 5, the gum 2 serves to attenuate the light entering the resin paste of the bone 1, thereby allowing a longer time for a dental process.
