Abstract

PURPOSE:To enlarge a dynamic range of a light receiving part by providing a control part for controlling the intensity of a local oscillation light source in accordance with the intensity of a signal light, and simultaneously, stabilizing a center frequency of an intermediate frequency signal by controlling an oscillation frequency of the local oscillation light source. CONSTITUTION:A signal light 1 and a local oscillation light 3 being an output from a local oscillation light source 2 are multiplexed by an optical multiplexing part 4, and an intermediate frequency signal 7 is formed. The obtained intermediate frequency signal 7 is further amplified by an intermediate frequency amplifier 8, and thereafter, allowed to branch into two, and one of them is inputted to a frequency discriminator 9 and used for controlling an intermediate frequency. The intermediate frequency is controlled by the first control part 31, a signal corresponding to a shift from a prescribed intermediate frequency is obtained by the frequency discriminator 9, and by feeding back its output to an injection current to a phase control area and a distribution and reflection area of the local oscillation light source 2, the intermediate frequency is stabilized. In such away, a dynamic range of a receiving part can be enlarged.
