Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the conversion efficiency at the time of light load by setting a converter action at said time in the state of blocking oscillation. CONSTITUTION:A DC-DC converter is composed of an oscillating transistor(Tr) Q1, a bias current source I1, a booster coil L1, a DC cut-off capacitor C1, a detection diode D1, and a smoothing capacitor C1; and is also equipped with a maximum voltage detecting element 2, a minimum voltage detecting element 3, a switching element 4, and a negative feedback element 5. When a switch SW1 is ON, TrQS3 is turned ON so that the bias current source I1 is also turned ON to bias the base of the TrQ1. The maximum voltage detecting element 2 is turned ON with the ON-state of the switch SW1 to keep the booster voltage V0 of the converter 1. Thus, an oscillating circuit is stopped at the time of light load and a blocking oscillation is made so that the load is driven by a charge stored in the capacitor C2. At the time of heavy load, the oscillating circuit is oscillated continuously.
