Abstract

PURPOSE:To make stable discharge emission formable and to prevent emission from overlapping between adjacent luminous parts by making at least either one of an anode electrode and a cathode electrode composed of a shading layer with light-drawing window, and of a transparent conductive layer which closes the light-drawing window. CONSTITUTION:At least either one of an anode electrode 30 and a cathode electrode 32 is composed of a shading layer 46 and a transparent layer 48. The transparent conductive layer 48 is disposed to close a light-drawing window 44 of the shading layer 46. Accordingly discharge emission at a luminous part 50 is produced chiefly between the conductive layer 48 part for closing the light-receiving window 44 and the facing cathode electrode 32, and its discharge emission can be performed stably. Even if overlapping parts of light are generated between adjacent luminous parts 50, the overlapping parts can be concealed by the covering of the shading layer 46.
