Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain photochromic paper having high optical density, superior durability, a high optical coloring speed and a high fading speed by incorporating a photochromic material so that a color is developed by irradiation with light and is vanished by shielding the light. CONSTITUTION:A photochromic material is incorporated into the fibers of paper so that a color is developed by irradiation with light and is vanished by shielding the light. The photochromic material used may be selected among inorg. photochromic materials such as metal oxides, metal halides and metal carbonyls and org. photochromic materials such as thioindigos, arom. nitro compds., anils, spiropyranes, the leuco bodies of triphenylmethane dyes, imidazoles, hydrazines, chlorophyll and polynuclear arom. compds. Information is obtd. by a means such as copying in a color developed state by utilizing temporary memory function and inexpensive paper enabling repeated writing of information is obtd.
