Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate an influence of differential setting means from a temperature characteristic and a voltage characteristic of a vacant heating sensing resistor and get a stable vacant heating sensing action by a method wherein optical transmitting means is connected to an electrode through differential setting means. CONSTITUTION:In case hot water storing tank 24 is filled with water, differential setting means 27 is not operated, and in case the hot water storing tank 24 runs out of water and a vacant heating results, a water resistance between an electrode 23 and the hot water storing tank 24 is increased and a voltage of the electrode 23 is increased. Accordingly, transistors 30 and 31 are turned off and a photo-coupler 34 is also turned off, a high level signal is transmitted to a heating controller part 36 and this heating controller part 36 terminate heating means 38. Current limiting means 22 and a unit having a resistor 40 and differential setting means 27 connected in series are connected in parallel to each other, a voltage at the electrode 23 is further increased and then the differential setting means may act. Accordingly, the vacant heating sensing resistor is not influenced by the differential setting means.
