Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten time required for the payment of a charge by photographing a motorbicycle entering into a charge station with a camera, executing image processing to discriminate the kind of the motorbicycle and automatically and previously calculating the charge corresponding to the motorbicycle. CONSTITUTION:When a TV camera 2 is set on a slightly upper position at the time of taking the rear image of a motorbicycle 1, said motorbicycle runs through from the lower part of the of an image processor 3 to the upper part. Namely, a processing range called a detecting window 7 for detecting the motorbicycle 1 is set on the lower part of the screen 6 and a change between an image (a) sent one field before and a current image (b) is detected (the head of a rider) in said window 7 out of density images sent from the TV camera 2 to the image processor 3 at every 1/60sec. When the change in the window disappears, the setting of a number plate 4 on the center of the screen 6 is decided and the image is taken in as an original image 8 to discriminate the kind of the motorbicycle.
