Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the accident point of a transmission line, by detecting the various accidents thereof by always monitoring the output signal of the electric field sensor nearest to a power supply. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of electric field sensors 3 are arranged along a transmission line and a current I flows to the conductor 4 of each of the electric field sensors 3 by the electrostatic induction from transmission lines 2 to generate potential difference in a resistor 6. The intensity of the electrostatic induction from the transmission lines 2 suddenly changes when an accident is generated in the transmission lines and the voltage of the transmission lines changes. Among a plurality of the electric field sensors 3 arranged along the transmission line, the output signal of the sensor 6 nearest to a power supply is always monitored. When the output of the sensor 3 changes, said output is transmitted to the monitor apparatus arranged to a substation on the basis of the signal from the sensor 3 by an optical fiber. The accident point of each of the transmission lines is accurately detected from the state of the output change of the sensor 3.
