Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily seal the connected part of the tank and the tube having different materials mutually by applying ultrasonic wave vibration to the part to be connected of the tube and the tank and by welding said tube to the tank. CONSTITUTION:A pair of upper and lower tanks 2, 3 are connected by tubes 4 in a heat exchanger 1, and the tubes 4 are made of the metallic material of heat conductive material. Many fins 5 are attached to the periphery of the tube, and each tank 2, 3 is formed from plastic material. The grooves 12 of the wedge shape in cross section are formed on the peripheries of the communication holes 11 of the tanks 2, 3, and the tip of the tube is inserted into the groove 12 as shown by an arrow A. The horn 13 of an ultrasonic wave welder is brought in contact with the part 10 to be connected by pushing from the side of the tanks 2, 3. When ultrasonic wave vibration is applied thereto, the contact surface of the tanks 2, 3 and the tube 4 vibrates frictionally, and friction heat is generated, whereby the tube 4 is melded to the tank 2, 3 through melting of the plastic. Thus, connection may be simply achieved.
