PURPOSE:To execute stable tracking control over a wide range by detecting the moving of an objective lens accompanied with the tracking control in a tracking direction and correcting a tracking error signal with the detecting signal. CONSTITUTION:A light from a light source 1 composed of a semiconductor laser, etc., is reflected from an information carrier 4 and light-received by a bisectional photodetector 5, an operation processing is executed by an operational amplifier 6 and the tracking error signal is outputted. On the other hand, a corner cube 92, which reflects a luminous flux from a second light source 92, is provided on a holding member 7 to hold an objective lens 3 and the light from a light source 91 is reflected by the corner cube 92 and led to a detecting device 93 to be the bisectional photodetector. Then, a signal corresponding moving quantity in the tracking direction of the objective lens 3 is sent from a moving detecting means 9 to a correcting circuit 10. The tracking error signal is sent from the operational amplifier 6 to the correcting circuit 10 and corrected here by an output signal from the moving detecting means 9. Then, the corrected signal is outputted to a servo circuit 11.
