Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable patterning with high accuracy in spite of using a resin material colored to black which is advantageous in terms of cost by forming red picture element patterns to a shape which covers a boundary region as well and covering the boundary region with the two layers; the red picture element patterns and light shieldable pattern. CONSTITUTION:The red picture element patterns 16R among the picture element patterns of three colors are formed to the shape not only to embed windows 12 but also to cover nearly the entire part of the light shieldable patterns 14 as well. The so-called boundary region is, therefore, coated with the two layers; the light shieldable patterns 14 consisting of the resin material colored black and the red picture element patterns 16R. The light shieldability by the superposition of the two layers is made surer and the reduction of the thickness of the respective layers is enabled particularly by adding a yellow dye in addition to a red dye as a red coloring material to said coloring material. The mixing ratio of the yellow with the red is preferably about 1/3. The color display is substantially unaffected in terms of visual sensitivity even if the yellow is added to the red in such a manner.
