Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of a pitch cycle extracting device and to extract a high precision pitch by arranging a cross-correlation unit as the pitch extracting means for the device. CONSTITUTION: The discrete-time signal series of an input terminal 1 is inputted in a cross-correlation unit 20, and the fixed series, which is used for the calculation of cross-correlation function from a fixed signal generating unit 10, is inputted in the correlation unit 20. With this correlation unit 20, a correlation function is determined from the signal series and the fixed series, and inputted in a maximum/minimum point detector 30 and a delay 40. The first maximum or the minimum point is detected by this detector 30, delaying the cross- correlation signal column by the delay 40, generating a difference in predetermined time interval, and detecting the second maximum or the minimum point by a maximum/minimum point detector 31. Then, with an output from the detectors 30, 31 inputted in a pitch deciding circuit 50, a time relation between the first and the second maximum points or the minimum points is determined, as is a time relation between the first maximum point and the second minimum point or between the first minimum point and the second maximum point.
