Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R and R<1> are H or lower alkyl; R<2> is lower alkyl; X is halogen, alkyl or alkoxy; y is halogen or alkyl; m and n are 0, 1 or 2). EXAMPLE:(E)-N(alpha,alpha-Dimethylbenzyl)-2-phenyl-2-buteneamide. USE:A herbicide exhibiting no crop injury to paddy rice, effectively controlling a lowland weed (e.g. Echinochloa oryzicola Vasing or Cyperusdifformis L.) and having high activity. PREPARATION:Benzylamines expressed by formula II are dissolved in a proper organic solvent and then reacted with 2-(substituted)phenyl-2-alkenoic acid to provide the aimed compound expressed by formula I. The reaction is carried out using a suitable reaction auxiliary, e.g. thionyl chloride, phosphorus trichloride, phosphorus pentachloride or phosphorus oxychloride.
