NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R is aryl, heteroaryl; R1 is alkyl; R2 is aryl heteroaryl, alkyl where R and R2 may be further substituted).
EXAMPLE: α-Isopropyl-frufuridene-N-(benzenesulfonyl)amine.
USE: Microbicide. It has powerful antimicrobial activity against a wide range of microorganisms causing plant diseases such as Helminthosporium leaf spot, wilting, athlete's foot, coli bacilli or bacillus subtilis.
PREPARATION: The reaction of an imine of formula II with a sulfonic acid halide of anhydride formula III (Z is halide, OSO2R2, OSO2CF3) gives the compound of formula I.
