Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable all the four sections of a lumber to be viewed as edge grain and make an effective use of the log wood by a method wherein the section through which an edge grain of four vertically cut lumber obtained by vertically dividing a log wood along a cross line passing the cross section center of a log wood is positioned so that each section can be faced outside and the circumference end of each vertically cut material may be adhered. CONSTITUTION: Making a center 3 of growth rings of a tree on a cross section to be a center of a log, an arc section comprising a front arc 4, a rear arc 5, a left arc 6 and a right arc 7 each of which is in a point symmetry is chamfered and cut on a straight line. Thus, formed is a wood of which each length is equal in arcs of front/rear and right/left and which has a straight line face 8. More particularly, a log is vertically cut along with a cross line 9 whose four straight line faces are cut a half thereof. Thus, woods 10-13, each of which is vertically cut are formed and are provided withcut sections A and B, from which an edge grain being reciprocally at right angle can be viewed, the adhered faces C and D on a straight line connected thereto and an arc face E between said adhered faces C and D. The cut sections A and B from which each edge grain of each vertically cut woods 10-13 are located to the exterior thereof and adhered.
