Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve cleaning efficiency by cleaning up the surface of an optical means in a device only by operation inserting a cartridge into a cartridge loading/ejecting port of the device similarly to a standardized disk cartridge storing an information recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning unit 23 can be rotated by a medium rotating motor in a device 1 provided with the optical means 19 and a cleaning member 25 can slide the surface of the optical means 19 through an aperture part 27 formed on a cartridge body. The cleaning cartridge 23 can be loaded into the device 1 through the cartridge loading/ejecting port 6 of the device 1 similarly to the cartridge in which an information recording medium is accommodated. The surface of the optical means 19 can be cleaned up by relatively sliding a cleaning member 25 and the optical means 19 in the contacted state. Consequently, the cleaning work can be made efficient.
