Abstract
PURPOSE: To suppress the occurrence of unevenness in sagging due to the weight of a cable by a method wherein a cat walk is strained by a hanger rope and deflection equivalent to the wight of an erected suspension bridge cable is previously exerted on the cat walk. CONSTITUTION: A storm rope 19 is stretched between anchorages 8 through respective towers 7. The storm rope 19 and a cat walk 15 are intercoupled in a high tension state by a number of hanger ropes 20 to form a storm hanger 21. This constitution prevents the cat walk 15 from wide deflection even if the weight of the strand wire 3 spanning with which is effected is exerted on the cat walk 15, the cat walk 15 is prevented from wide deflection, the occurrence of unevenness in sagging of a strand wire 3 group is suppressed.
