Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce paper-base frictional facings to be used in an oil in a high yield, by winding a paper base material around a paper cylinder and simultaneously slicing the base material and the cylinder along faces perpendicular to the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A paper-base material sheet obtd. by a Fourdrinier paper making process is wound around the circumferential surface of a cylindrical (or columnar) board having a predetermined outer diameter a plurality of times to form a cylindrical (or columnar) paper-base material having a predetermined thickness to thereby produce an integrated cylindrical (or columnar) wound body 3. Subsequently, the wound body 3 is cut along faces perpendicular to the central axis of the board 1 with a cutter 4 to form annular bodies having a predetermined thickness, from which the annular boards in circular contact with respective annular paper facings 5 on the inner diametrical side thereof are pulled out with a special jig. In this manner, the cylindrical wound body 3 can be sequentially cut in round slices, followed by pulling out of the annular boards, to form the annular facings 5, which can be used as products as they are. Therefore, the yield can be substantially 100%.
