Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide the title polymer having high glass transition point and an adequate m.p. in both aspects of melt moldability and heat resistance, by incorporating thereinto two kinds of specific constituent units. CONSTITUTION:Terephthaloyl or isophthaloyl dichroride and 2,6-naphthale nedicarbonyl dichloride are reacted with diphenyl ether in the presence of a catalyst AlCl3 to prepare an arom. polyketone copolymer comprising 15-90mol.% constituent units of formula I and 85-10mol.% constituent units of formula II and having an intrinsic viscosity of at least 0.5, an m.p. of 280-360 deg.C and a glass transition point of 175-199 deg.C.
