Abstract

PURPOSE:To unify the operating form of an input operation and an editing operation and to improve an using feeling and an operability without interrupting an operating procedure at the time of an input by executing the editing operation as a result of a conversion at the time of inputting a sentence. CONSTITUTION:In an input device 1, a converting key 11, a definition key 12 and a moving key or the like are disposed and a new character string is inputted from the input device 1 the key 12 is keyed or a conversion is executed more than once or the conversion is defined not defined until a cursor 21 is moved. A processing system main body 3 retrieves a converting dictionary 4 at the time of keying the key 11, when the result is the character string, it is inserted into the position of the cursor 21 and when it is the editing operation, it is executed. For instance, in case of the character string of a 'double angle', a definition character string thereafter is inserted with the double angle and in case of a common character string, the definition character string thereafter is inserted in the common character string, which are allocated as respective functions. Then, all operations are unified to the form of a converting operation succeeding to the keying of the character string. Therefore, an input is efficiently executed.
