Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a prescribed thickness of a projection having no bend and twist by forming a tilted face of a certain length on a nonrolling face of either of upper and lower horizontal rolls and either of right and left vertical rolls and rolling a stock with both tilted faces being in contact and engaged with each other. CONSTITUTION:After an intermediate rough steel stock is obtained, the web, both flanges, and the projection are rolled in a universal rolling stage. In that time, an upper horizontal roll 1 and a right vertical roll 4 are brought into contact with each other at a tilt part (a). Hence, movement of the roll 1 in the right direction is blocked by the roll 4, so that the projection is rolled to have a prescribed thickness. Thus, horizontal movement of the roll 1 caused by a thrust is prevented and a prescribed thickness of the projection is obtained and rolling with no bend and twist is performed.
