CONSTITUTION:The steel contg., by weight, 0.4-0.7% C, <=1.0% Si, 0.8-2.0% Mn, <=0.2% Cr, <=0.05% Al and >=0.02% Ti+V as well as <=(C content/6%) Ti+V and consisting substantially of the balance Fe is prepd. By this method, the low alloy tufftriding steel having high strength and high toughness in which cracks, etc., are not generated at the time of stress relief leveling is obtd.
