Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an image characterized by excellent linearily and no distortion, by dividing a coil material into a plurality of planer parts on the facing surfaces of magnetic poles, forming coils in this way, setting the ampere turns of the divided coils at mutually related values, thereby making the gradient of the slanted magnetic field in each direction to approach a constant value. CONSTITUTION:In a slanted magnetic field in the direction Y, a slanted magnetic field generating part 40 is composed of coils 11a, 12a, 11b and 12b, which are divided into two parts in a concentric pattern. Ampere turns IN1 and IN2 of these coils 11a, 12a, 11b and 12b are set at the specified related values. In slanted magnetic fields in the direction X and in the direction Z, a slanted magnetic field generating part 40 is composed of first straight line parts 17 and 18, second straight line parts 19 and 20 and returning line parts 21 and 22, which are obtained by dividing parallel 4-line parts. Ampere turns IN1 and IN2 of these first straight line parts 17 and 18 and the second straight line parts 19 and 20 are set at specified related values. Thus the space uniformity of the gradient in each magnetic field can be enhanced. Therefore, the gradient becomes a very small value. The values become approximately equal for the directions. An image characterized by excellent linearily and less distortion is obtained.
