Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the defrosting capability to prevent ice from growing in an outdoor heat exchanger by causing an indoor fan disposed in an indoor heat exchanger to be stopped when the time interval of defrosting operation is greater than the set time, and to be operated when such time interval is smaller than the set time so as to perform a reverse cycle defrosting. CONSTITUTION:When the outdoor heat exchanger 2 is defrosted by a reverse cycle defrosting operation, such is detected by a sensor 8 and a command of the defrosting completion is sent out from a controller 9 cause the outdoor fan 6, indoor fan 7 and four-way valve 4 to turn on to resume a heating operation. When the outdoor heat exchanger 2 is again frosted by the heating operation and the detection signal of it from the sensor 8 is received by the controller 9, the time interval between the defrosting operations is counted by a timer means dispose in the controller 9. If it is greater than the set time (40 minutes), the indoor fan 7 is stopped to perform a reverse cycle defrosting operation, and, if it is smaller than the set time, the indoor fan 7 is operation at low speed to perform a reverse cycle defrosting operation. Since the defrosting capability is improved by the speed operation of the indoor fan 7 and the frost is completely removed, there will be no ice growth.
