Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A triazole derivative expressed by formula I. USE:Useful as a plant growth regulator and agricultural and horticultural germicide, usable for preventing lodging or suppressing elongation of grains, such as rice plant, wheat, barley or rye, crops, such as soybean or cotton, suppressing growth of lawn and water shoots of fruit trees, improving merchandise value by dwarfing of ornamental plants, suppressing growth of hedges, regulating flowering periods, etc., and further having preventive, remedial or penetrative and translocating controlling effects on plant disease damage, such as powdery mildew of wheats or barleys, scab of pear, etc. PREPARATION:For example, a compound expressed by formula II is reacted with a reducing agent, such as sodium hydroxide, to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I. Hexane, etc., are used as a solvent to normally carry out the reaction at -20-+120 deg.C. The compound expressed by formula II is synthesized by reacting a compound expressed by formula III with an oxidizing agent in a solvent.
