Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a distinct image even when residual powder exists by arranging a memory elimination member which disturbs the residual coloring powder by sliding on the surface of an image carrier in the upstream of an electrifying means and the downstream of a transfer means. CONSTITUTION:A memory eliminating brush 7 is fixedly arranged in the upstream of an electrostatic charger 3 and the downstream of a transfer device 6 in an image forming device which has the electrifier 3, an exposure optical system 4, a means 5 which inverts and develops an electrostatic latent image and the transfer device 6. The handle of the brush 7 abuts on a photosensitive body 2 and an Si rubber film 201 of an elasticity insulating material is stuck onto the brush side that is its rear side. The brush 7 is a satin weave 200 or a pile weave 205 made of fiber 202 having thickness 100 denier that is rayon contg. carbon, the resistivity of the brush 7 is <=109OMEGAmm and a polarity, which is <=700V, opposite to a toner electrification polarity in a developer is impressed. The brush 7 can be replaced by a blade. Since the brush 7 disturbs the residual coloring powder that remains on the photosensitive body 2 after transferring, a former image doesn't remain even when the residual powder exists and the distinct image can be obtained.
