Abstract
PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain the titled substance capable of becoming a substrate for measuring NAG-ase activity, by carrying out reaction of N-acetyl-tri- O-acetyl-alpha-D-glucosamylchloride with fluoro-nitrophenol in a different phase system and then subjecting the resultant reaction product to deacetylation. CONSTITUTION:The reaction of N-acetyl-3,4,6-tri-O-acetyl-alpha-D-glucosamylchloride expressed by formula I (AC is acetyl; X is H, halogen or methoxy) with 2- fluoro-4-nitrophenol expressed by formula II is carried out in a different phase system (preferably 2 phase system consisting of water and an organic solvent such as chloroform not mixable with water). Then the resultant reaction product is successively subjected to deacetylation to provide the aimed compound expressed by formula III.
