Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermochromic coating film having heat resistance, adhesivity resistance and heat yellowing resistance, by forming a patterned coating film on the surface of tempered plate glass by specific thermochromic ink and baking the coating film at a relatively low temperature. CONSTITUTION:A patterned coating film is formed on the surface of tempered plate glass of borosilicate glass by thermochromic ink obtained by blending a thermochromic material of inorganic compound-based ceramic consisting essentially of thallium chromate with a binder of polyimide polymer type. Then the coating film is baked at a such a low temperature as not to melt the thermochromic ink. By formation of the coating film, since thallium chromate to stand continuous use at a relatively high temperature of 200-300 deg.C is used as the thermochromic material and thallium chromate is used as the ink, polyimide polymer not to react with thallium chromate is used as the binder. Consequently, burning at the relatively low temperature is made possible and the thermochromic coating film having no difficulty in practical use can be formed.
