Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a rewriting type optical recording medium on which rewriting can be performed in a photon mode by utilizing its photochromic characteristic, by a method wherein after making prepolymer of photosetting resin composition coating the surface of a substrate preswollennetwork macromolecule, a spiro pyran compound is introduced into a macromolecule matrix of the preswollennetwork macromolecule. CONSTITUTION:Photosetting resin composition 2 that sensitizer for photopolymerization and plasticizer are distributed to prepolymer having at least not less than two molecular terminal acrylate groups in the molecule, for instance, ethylene glycol di(meta) acrylate, is spread on a surface of a translucent of light reflective substrate 1, and above-mentioned prepolimer is made a preswollennetwork macromolecule by irradiation of light on said photosetting resin composition. Then, this preswolennetwork macromolecule is dipped in a polar solvent in which a spiro pyran compound is dissolved, and while the plasticizer in the preswollennetwork macromolecule is being replaced by the polar solvent, the spiro pyran compound is simultaneously put into the preswollennetwork macromolecule. The spyro pyran compound to be used herein is preferably that, as given by the below general formula, which is efficient in stability of recording preservaration and repetitive use and comparatively quick in photoreactivity.
