Abstract

PURPOSE:To previously delete a partial circuit network to be matched with a useless detailed pattern in a detailed pattern matching mechanism, by adding a pseudo pattern matching mechanism to the front stage of the detailed pattern matching mechanism in case a specific partial circuit is extracted out of an electronic circuit network. CONSTITUTION:The entire circuit network data 31 showing an entire circuit network X and the partial circuit network data 32 to be retrieved are supplied from an input device 1 and stored in a data storage device 3. A partial circuit retrieving mechanism 4 extracts a circuit network, i.e., a part of the network X consisting of a circuit network having the circuit network value (f) equal to that of a partial circuit network via a pseudo pattern matching mechanism 41. Then the mechanism 4 performs the detailed pattern matching with the circuit network via a detailed pattern matching mechanism 42 and then retrieves a partial circuit network having the same form as the partial circuit network. Here said value (f) means the combination value of each circuit element.
