Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain favorable balance in the comparison with the dimension of a car body by reducing the entire length in the front and rear direction of an exhaust system through provision of an exhaust chamber closer to the car body in the car width direction than a pair of mufflers provided on one side of the car body.
CONSTITUTION: In a motorcycle 1, an exhaust system 20 is provided for an engine 9. This exhaust system 20 has an upper muffler 21 and a lower muffler 33 positioned vertically, and these are in the almost same shape and size and located on the right side of the rear part of a car body. In the car width direction, an exhaust chamber 23 made of sheet metal is provided closer to the car body side than the mufflers 21 and 22, and deployment of this exhaust chamber 20 reduces the entire length of the exhaust system 20 in the direction of front to rear of the car body, and when the exhaust system 20 and the car body are compared to each other in terms of dimension, a favorable balance on appearance can be obtained between them.
