Abstract

PURPOSE:To permit copying by absorbing the position deflection in the horizontal direction and change force by static-pressure-supporting a part holding device in shiftable ways on a plane and discharging the static-pressure-supported medium through a throttle and changing the supplied pressurization force. CONSTITUTION:When an assembly part 11 is fitting-assembled, the pressurized gas is supplied into the air pocket 3 of an air chamber 2 through a nozzle 5. A thrust plate 4 is floated up by the static pressure of the pressurized gas, and moved smoothly by an external force in the horizontal direction. Therefore, if the position deflection exists between the assembly part 11 which is to be fitted and held and the hole 12a on an assembly part 12, and a reaction force acts between the parts in a chamfering part 12b which is generated by the lowering of the assembly part 11, the assembly part 11 can be copied so as to be fitted into the hole 12a. The force necessary for copying is made proportional to the pressurization force of the supplied gas, and setting is permitted by this pressurization force.
