Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a martensitic stainless steel having superior cold forgeability and oxidation resistance, by specifying respective contents of Al, Si, and Cr. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic stainless steel has a composition consisting of (by weight ratio, the same applies to the following) 0.15-0.40% C, 0.65-1.50% Si, <=1.0% Mn, 0.2-1.5% Ni, 15.0-20.0% Cr, 0.5-2.0% Mo, 0.1-0.8% Al, and the balance Fe with impurity elements. By the above composition, this steel has high practicability as a material used in a high-temp. oxidizing atmosphere, such as material for roller shaft and bolt.
