Abstract

PURPOSE:To overwrite information by recording the information by means in two levels while impressing one-way magnetic field to a recording film. CONSTITUTION:Beams radiated from a light source 302 are focused on the recording film 301 by an objective lens 312 through a beam splitter 314 and a prism 313 and the reflected beams are photoelectrically converted by a light receiving part 303 to obtain a reproducing signal through an amplifier circuit 306. While impressing the one-way magnetic field to the recording film 301 on the recording medium at the time of recording in said magneto-optical recording, the beams are condensed to the surface of the recording film 301 and information is recorded by beams with two kinds of light intensity: 1st light intensity sufficient for completely magnetizing the irradiated part in the magnetic field impressed from the external and 2nd light intensity higher than the intensity of light for reproducing information and lower than the 1st light intensity. Consequently, records can be superposed and rapid recording operation can be attained.
