Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a treating agent having excellent mechanical stability, diluting stability, etc., comprising a microemulsion of organopolysiloxane having lower value of a specific particle diameter obtained by emulsion polymerization of organopolysiloxane in which the siloxane extract exhibits a specific viscosity. CONSTITUTION: This microemulsion of organopolysiloxane having <=0.15 μm average particle diameter and 100 cst viscosity at 25 deg.C of organosiloxane extract is obtained by slowly adding a crude emulsion in which organopolysiloxane (e.g. cyclic organopolysiloxane) is added with an anionic, nonionic or cationic surfactant and water into an aqueous solution containing an emulsion polymerization catalyst, e.g. mineral acid or a sulfonic acid-based anionic activation agent and emulsion polymerizing. The emulsion has excellent diluting stability and mixing stability and imparts excellent smoothness and repulsive elasticity to a fiber material (e.g. natural, regenerated, synthetic fiber, etc.), without generating an oil spot.
