Abstract

PURPOSE:To impart high electromechanical coupling coefficient, piezoelectric strain constant, and Curie temp. in combination to the title composition by incorporating PbO, TiO2, ZrO2, La2O3, MgO, and Nb2O5 into the composition in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:The piezoelectric ceramic for an actuator is formed from the composition expressed by the formula. In the formula, 0.03<=x<=0.07, 0.45<=y<=0.60, and 0<z<0.25. The ceramic composition has a high piezoelectric strain constant and >=150 deg.C Curie temp., and is appropriately used as the material for a piezoelectric actuator. The composition also has an excellent degree of sintering.
